Change Management During a Merger and Acquisition

Having been part of global organizations and having gone through several mergers and acquisitions herself, Dr. Poornima Prasad will share her thoughts and knowledge on when the change management process actually begins. She’ll address why is it important to manage the change and what could go wrong if the process is not thought through and managed effectively. This presentation will also focus on the importance of having a vision and the importance of formulating a strategy that is in line with your vision for the merger & acquisition.

Participants will gain insights to some common obstacles faced while managing change. Including the critical role HR leaders play in overcoming obstacles through open communication, getting C-level execs onboard and other stakeholder management, due diligence and leveraging existing relationships. She will also concentrate on how to effectively partner with leadership through each stage of the change effort to make the change stick.

About the Speaker


Poornima Prasad, MSc, PhD

Dr. Prasad is a Human Resources Leader with close to 21 years of broad and progressive experience, demonstrated success as an HR partner in a large global context. She is a highly collaborative leader with a passion for building high performing teams and leading transformational programs. Poornima has proven excellence in strategic planning, managing HR globally, compliance, crisis management, HR operations, Immigrations and Mobility, Performance Management and Learning & Development. She possesses excellent program management, analytical, ideation and interpersonal skills. Poornima has a track record of success managing and driving change in a growth oriented multi-cultural organization.

At Tech Mahindra, Dr. Prasad serves as head the HR function for the Americas region and the Network Services business globally focusing on several Strategic Projects including mergers and acquisitions. She successfully manages change within various processes and systems to drive higher degree of compliance.
