A Slice of Life: A Story About Perspective, Priorities, and Pizza
June 20, 2007
8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Presented by:

About the Program:
Employee engagement is a topic that seems to be on everyone’s list of top methods for increasing organizational profitability. However, despite all of the attention the concept is getting in the business community, studies show that more and more of us are “checking out” on a regular basis. As recently as February of this year (2007), a study by The Conference Board found that less than half of all Americans are satisfied with their jobs. A great deal of employee dissatisfaction manifests itself in a lack of motivation in the workplace. With all this focus on what goes on in the workplace, it is easy to neglect the impact of engagement at the individual level.
In this highly interactive workshop, Al helps employees at all levels find the answer to one of today’s most critical business questions: “Why should I bother to be truly engaged in my job?” Going beyond typical byproducts such as improved customer service, increased revenue, and enhanced organizational reputation, participants identify the personal benefits to be gained through workplace commitment and involvement. And, they develop personal action strategies for turning reasons and good intentions into actual behaviors.
Bonus Train-the-Trainer seminar:
As an added bonus to the workshop, attendees will be provided the opportunity to participate in a comprehensive employee engagement survey and to have access to the data that has been compiled over several years and with thousands of participants.
The seminar content can be enhanced with attendance at the Train-the-Trainer session offered immediately following the half-day workshop. In this program, individuals will be provided with everything necessary to take the concepts of the “Slice of Life” workshop back to their workplaces. As a facilitator of the program, individuals will have the opportunity to make a positive impact at both the individual worker level and on the company’s bottom line.
(As part of the Train-the-Trainer program, participants will be given 12 copies of A Slice of Life and the Instructor’s Presentation with extensive notes.)
