About the Speaker
CYNTHIA U. WASHINGTON is an Associate in the Dallas office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Ms. Washington represents management in a broad range of labor and employment law matters, including cases alleging race, age, sex, veteran status, and disability discrimination; sexual harassment; workers' compensation retaliation; unfair labor practices; wage and hour violations; wrongful discharge; breach of contract; and employment-related torts. Ms. Washington also counsels clients on how to prevent employment lawsuits and create policies that comply with federal and state labor and employment laws. Ms. Washington’s concentrations are employment litigation involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful discharge, breach of contract, and employment-related torts; counseling on employee policies and procedures.
MICHAEL J. DEPONTE is a Shareholder and the Litigation Manager for the Austin Office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Michael is Board Certified in both Labor and Employment Law and Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Of the approximately 90,000 attorneys that are licensed in the State of Texas, only 29 are Board Certified in both of these areas. Mr. DePonte has extensive litigation and trial background having tried numerous cases in state and federal courts in Texas. Mr. DePonte’s practice focuses on the litigation of employment claims, wage and hour claims and collective actions, class actions, and civil rights claims under state and federal law. Mr. DePonte has defended national and regional employers on a broad range of employment-related issues including class actions. He has represented employers before numerous federal and state agencies, and has handled trials and appeals in federal and state courts.
