A Cafeteria Plan for Human Interaction

Treating everyone the same is not only impossible but ineffectual as well. Since all people are different we need to remember this in our inter-personal dealings. This position may contradict people’s request for equality but the facts speak louder than the words…we each need recognition of our differences.
When making choices that affect people, you can need to consider individual differences and varying situations.
When selecting food in a cafeteria we try our best to make choices that go well together (no ice cream and pickles). The same applies to human interaction. A combination of a need for coaching and a person who is not very verbal creates the need for a choice of communication style that benefits the situation. One “size” does not fit all.
The same applies to giving recognition. A fantastic dessert to one in the cafeteria line is a taste or diet disaster to another, so choosing the effective type of recognition is critical to satisfying an appetite and attaining positive objectives.
One food or human approach is easier…it just doesn’t work when it comes to human interaction.
Bon appetite!
