Volunteer of the Year Award
Program Overview

Purpose:

The award is to recognize those whose efforts and impact are exemplary in serving Dallas HR and its membership.

Award Levels:

Two award categories are available:

1. Leadership – recognizing the IMPACT of a board member or program chair. Excluded from nomination are members of the Executive Committee and Board of Trustees.
2. Active Volunteer Member – recognizing the IMPACT of an active member of Dallas HR in a volunteer capacity.

Criteria:

• Candidate must be an active member of Dallas HR.
• Candidate must have an outstanding record of participation in Dallas HR.
• Candidate should be an excellent role model for Dallas HR.
• Candidate should have a favorable relationship with other Dallas HR members.
• Candidate should have made a significant and recognizable contribution to Dallas HR. Consider their IMPACT on Dallas HR and use the form included for submitting a nomination.

Innovation - how did the nominee use innovative or unique approaches in performing their volunteer service?
Mobilization - how did the nominee mobilize other volunteers or the public to get things done?
Perseverance - how did the nominee have to persevere against challenging circumstances in order to perform their service? Productivity - how timely and productive were the nominee's volunteer efforts?
Achievement - what did the nominee accomplish through their volunteer service?
Collaboration - how well did the nominee collaborate and involve others in their efforts?
Teamwork - how well did the nominee work within a team setting to accomplish their service?

Awards:

Each recipient will receive a personalized plaque and an HR Southwest Conference student scholarship will be donated in the honoree’s name. The current Dallas HR President and President-Elect will select the award recipients.

Nomination Process and Timeline:

• Members nominate candidates using the Award Nomination Form from November 1 - November 17.
• Submit forms to info@dallashr.org, or fax to (214) 631-4533.
• Submission deadline is November 17, 2006.
• Award recipients are announced at the December monthly luncheon.
