Community Relations Committee Bryan’s House Collection Drive at Dallas HR’s December Monthly Meeting

2006 is drawing to a close, can you believe it? As the days grow shorter and the nights cooler (thank goodness!!), we turn our thoughts to the holidays and the celebrations that will take place over the last few weeks of the year.

The Community Relations Committee of Dallas HR has been reviewing the programs we have sponsored during the two years since we were formed. We are very proud of the support Dallas HR members have given us to benefit the organizations we have partnered with during this time. One of these, Bryan's House, is a very unique Dallas organization with an unusual mission - to respond to the needs of children and their families who are impacted by HIV/AIDS. It is the only special-care facility in Dallas for children and teens affected by HIV/AIDS. They offer a full range of medical, educational, and psychosocial services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Their nationally acclaimed program is innovative, compassionate, and cost effective. Bryan's House lets children focus on being children and enjoying the simple pleasures of life, like learning to swing, paint, sing, and read.

We are committed to continue our friendship with Bryan's House, and support this local community resource. We have decided that this year we will make them the beneficiary of our December meeting's collection program. We wanted to give you advance notice of our plans. This year, instead of having a Forgotten Angel tree, we will have a Bryan's House Wish Tree. We'll be asking you to help out and bring your contributions from the Bryan's House Wish List. We'll publish the wish list in our next Horizon and on our website, so stay tuned for more information. As always, we'll surround our holiday tree with your donations at the December lunch meeting.
