Return on investment (ROI) in worksite wellness initiatives becomes evident when one considers that most employees will spend anywhere from $2,500 to $5,000 per employee, per year on healthcare delivery, and these costs are escalating each year. Investment in worksite wellness programs is imperative.
As we move forward toward 2010 and beyond, it's important to understand that health and well being will be tremendously valuable to every company and to our nation. Indeed, the working population will get older rapidly: one baby boomer will turn 50 every eight seconds for the rest of the decade. And because of the aging population, healthcare cost will continue to rise, and American businesses will pick up the bulk of the cost.
