Membership Benefits

Membership is on an individual basis and is not transferable to any other person. Membership dues are $125.00 for twelve months (anniversary date basis). 

Membership in the Association entitles the members to a number of valuable services and opportunities, including:

Monthly Meetings - Interesting and informative speakers with expertise in various areas of human resources are featured at the luncheon meetings held the second Tuesday of each month (excluding June, July and October).  Most meetings are approved for HRCI Recertification Credit.

HR SOUTHWEST Human Resources Conference and Exposition - This annual fall meeting of human resource professionals has become the state SHRM conference. It features nationally recognized speakers, outstanding workshops, and over 200 exhibitors of human resource related products and services. To attend the annual HR SOUTHWEST Human Resources Conference and Exposition as a Dallas HR member, your current year dues must be paid in full.  Visit www.hrsouthwest.org to learn more about the conference.

Human Resource Accreditation - Dallas HR encourages professional accreditation through SHRM's Human Resource Certification Institute. Dallas HR provides information to members about the requirements, testing dates, etc. for accreditation. In addition, the Association aids members in establishing 8-week study groups and one-day review classes for the various exams.

Horizon - The Horizon is the monthly electronic newsletter . It highlights chapter activities, professional development courses and seminars, and articles on important legislative issues. If you would like to contribute information to the Horizon, please contact the V.P. Communications - Newsletter.

Resume Database On-Line - Job seekers may post their resumes to the Dallas HR website at no charge.  Dallas HR members may search the resume database free of charge.

Job Link - A nationally recognized program that provides a network to aid unemployed human resource professionals in finding gainful employment.

Membership Directory - This on-line publication is provided to members and contains the name, title, business address, email, and phone number of each member.

Independent Consultant Directory - Actively practicing independent human resources consultants that are members of DHRMA may participate in our website directory. For the directory listing refer to Professional Emphasis Groups.

Salary Survey - Dallas HR sponsors a salary survey for the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex annually in cooperation with the Hay Group. Survey results are offered to Dallas HR members at a nominal cost. Contact mbeseda@yahoo.com for more information.

Professional Emphasis Groups - Several Groups have been formed within Dallas HR to meet the needs of various member segments. Meetings are announced in the Horizon or can be found on-line under Professional Emphasis Groups.

Award & Scholarship Opportunities - The Association awards annual scholarships to two full-time students and a Dallas HR member. For information on the student scholarships, refer to the Student Chapters page and the Diversity website. Legislative Affairs - The Association keeps members apprised of pending local, state, and federal legislation that may impact areas of concern for human resource professionals. Speakers Bureau - Members are available free of charge to speak on behalf of Dallas HR on a number of HR-related topics.  Contact diane@dallashr.org to be included as an available speaker or to be put in contact with a speaker on your topics of interest.

Meeting Rooms - The Dallas HR board room is available for small group meetings (up to 30) for Dallas HR and HRSW related meetings. Please contact the Dallas HR office at 214.631.8775 to schedule.

SHRM Affiliation

The Dallas Human Resource Management Association, Inc. is an affiliated SHRM chapter (SHRM Chapter # 061). SHRM membership, however, is separate from Dallas HR membership.If you are interested in SHRM membership you may contact the Dallas HR office or you may contact SHRM headquarters directly: SHRM Member Services, 1800 Duke St., Alexandria, Va. 22314-3499.
