Emerging Leader of the Year: Award Recipient & Finalists

The DallasHR Emerging Leader of the Year Award recognizes a human resources practitioner who is under 35 years old and whose dedication to HR has made an impact both in the HR community and at his or her company.

Nominees are selected by their peers and colleagues and the winner will be chosen by a sub-committee of HR practitioners designated by the current President of DallasHR.

Chris Chaillot - High Profile Staffing 

Chris Chaillot is a University of North Texas graduate who began his full-time professional career with the City of Southlake managing their recruitment and hiring processes as the first Talent Acquisition Partner. 

During his time working with Southlake, Chris realized his passion for the talent acquisition industry and his knack for leveraging technology to drive process improvement. Chris’ most notable achievement was the development and implementation of a digital Personal History Statement application for Police and Fire personnel which reduced the submission and processing time from nearly two weeks to as little as 90 minutes.  Chris recently made the jump to the private sector, and currently works as the Senior Coordinator for High Profile Staffing where he plans to continue pursuing his passion in the talent acquisition industry.

Mariya Gavrilova-Aguilar, PHR, SHRM- SCP - University of North Texas 


Mariya Gavrilova Aguilar was born and raised in Sofia, Bulgaria. She began her undergraduate studies in the US as a Marketing major. By the time she graduated with three bachelor’s degrees in three and a half years, she had become passionate about Human Resources. Mariya graduated with a master’s degree in Performance Improvement in 2010.
 
While working on her PhD at the University of North Texas, Mariya secured a full-time position in Human Resources at the City of Corinth, where she was responsible for leave administration, assisting with training and creating customized training programs for managers and supervisors, conducting leave and salary analyses, preparing and evaluating requests for proposals, and revising policies and procedures. Mariya has held the PHR certification since 2013 and she obtained the SHRM-SCP certification in 2016. Mariya currently teaches courses in human resource management and general business as a faculty member at the University of North Texas. 

She has expertise in performance improvement, instructional design, and career development. Mariya has been a member of DallasHR and she has volunteered for The HRSouthwest Conference for 10 years. Mariya was awarded a SHRM Virtual Seminar Scholarship in 2017 and she was selected as a member of Leadership North Texas University Class III in 2018. In addition to her involvement and leadership positions within professional associations such as DallasHR and Fort Worth/Mid-Cities ATD, Mariya has served the DFW community by volunteering with Junior Achievement Dallas and teaching ESL courses as the Richardson Public Library. 
 
 

Elyse Murphy - Slalom Consulting 


Elyse Murphy is a Human Resources Professional with broad knowledge of talent acquisition and organizational effectiveness principles and practices.  She is a Talent Acquisition Manager for Slalom Consulting.

She has spent the past 7 years in recruiting, specifically in the professional services industry. Elyse has a passion for connecting top talent with the right career opportunities, and values working for companies who utilize a strong corporate culture as an integral part of their business strategy. Originally from Southern California and a graduate of Southern Methodist University, Elyse is always looking to expand her network and grow her skills and DallasHR has played a pivotal role in her career journey.
 

 

Sarah Recker - National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.  

 
Sarah Recker, Director of HR for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. is passionate about enhancing culture, improving systems, and developing people. Her background in Recruiting, coupled with her work in the Financial Services industry, has allowed her to mix her love for numbers with her love for people. She is an active member of DallasHR, specifically serving on the Education committee for Collin CountyHR and faithfully strives to reach new and existing members to help elevate the HR community while fostering inclusiveness. Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, reading, cooking, playing tennis, attending Zumba classes, and volunteering with church.
