The HRSouthwest Conference Volunteer of the Year: Award Recipient & Finalists

The HRSouthwest Conference Volunteer of the Year Award is given to one volunteer committee member whose hard work whose hard work and commitment have made a significant impact in serving all conference participants, attendees, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, staff and other volunteers participating in the conference.

Nominees are chosen from current Board volunteer leaders and the recipient is chosen by the sitting Board of Directors of The HRSouthwest Conference.

Cat Schlueter, PHR, - Human Resources Manager, City of Azle 

Cat Schlueter is a very dedicated volunteer.  Cat has worked on the Silent Auction Committee for the past two years. Each year she has worked diligently to secure silent auction items from companies to support the Excellence in Education Student Scholarships.  Not only has she secured donations from companies, she has also given personal donations as well.  In the past two years, if the Silent Auction Committee was slightly off their goal, she has given a personal donation to make sure the students received an even amount of money.   Cat is a dedicated volunteer and is always eager to help.

Beth Grover, PHR, SHRM-CP - Elevate ROI, LLC​


Beth Grover has been the Human Resources Manager at Elevate ROI, LLC in Irving since November 2009, and currently has nearly 15 years of human resources experience. As a small company, she not only handles all HR matters, but other areas including software administrator, A/P verifications and approvals, and assisting the president.

Beth has been volunteering on the HRSouthwest conference for the past six years – beginning as a part-time volunteer for two years then moving to a full-time volunteer position for the past four years. She enjoys being able to participate in the conference from behind the scenes and working on the committees to help make the conference a success. Having the opportunity to work with and get to know so many great people from all aspects of human resources make her experience very rewarding. Beth looks forward to being a part of DallasHR and the HRSouthwest Conference for years to come, doing everything she can to make every Conference a success.
 

Shelley Sheldon, MBA, SPHR, SHRM-SCP - Collin College   


Shelley Sheldon, has held HR leadership roles in the higher education, construction, hospitality and nonprofit sectors. In her current role as the HR Director of Employment and Professional Development at Collin College, Shelley oversees recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and professional development for nearly 3,000 faculty, staff, and administrators.  Shelley earned a BBA and MBA from Texas Woman’s University with concentrations in business, finance and human resources. She joined Dallas HR in 2004 and this year, Shelley served as a volunteer on the HRSWC Educational Sessions Committee and was the recipient of the volunteer spotlight recognition in June of 2018.
