Please review the following membership categories prior to applying for membership. Membership in DallasHR is owned by the individual, not the organization with whom the member is affiliated, and is neither transferrable, refundable or assignable. Membership becomes effective upon approval of the application and dues payment processing. Dues are paid annually on an anniversary basis.
Benefits of Membership
Professional Membership - $150
A Professional Member is an individual that is either:
- Engaged in the human resource profession with at least three years of experience, or
- Certified by a human resources credentialing agency, or
- A faculty member with three or more years experience holding at least assistant professorial rank in HR, or
- A full-time Human Resource consultant or attorney
Professional Members are dues-paying members, have full voting rights and may hold any office.

General Membership - $150
A General Member is an individual that is engaged in the human resource profession but does not meet the requirements for Professional membership. General Members are dues-paying members, have full voting rights and may not hold elected office.

Associate Membership - $150
An Associate Member is an individual that does not meet any of the foregoing categories, but has a bona fide interest in the human resource profession. Associate Members are dues-paying members, have full voting rights and may not hold elected office.

Corporate Discount Membership Program
This program is designed for companies with five or more employees that would like to be DallasHR members. This is a discount program in which each individual owns their membership rather than a corporate-owned membership. Volume discounts are as follows:
To get started,
- 5 to 10 employees - 10% discount
- 11 to 20 employees - 20% discount
- 21 to 50 employees - 30% discount
- 51 or more employees - 40% discount
you must appoint one individual to be the Company Point of Contact for your employees. The Company Point of Contact should provide a list of participating employee’s names and email addresses to DallasHR (send to firstname.lastname@example.org). DallasHR will then provide instructions directly to each employee about how to activate their membership. Upon completion of all employee applications, DallasHR will invoice the company for payment. Memberships will be activated upon receipt of payment.

Student Membership - $12
A Student Member is an individual that is enrolled at a college or university as a full time undergraduate (12 or more credit hours) or graduate student (6 or more credit hours), and is not employed or working on a full-time basis in an exempt HR position. Students are dues-paying members, but do not have voting rights and may not hold elected office.
To apply for Student Membership, please submit your application or DallasHR membership renewal with:
- Proof of full-time enrollment. This does not have to be an official document from the University.
- $12 membership fee

Recent Graduate Membership (see below for special dues structure)
A Recent Graduate Member is an individual who lives in the Greater Dallas Area, is a current member of a college SHRM chapter or national SHRM member or has graduated with an HR degree or related field in the past 90 days. Recent Graduate Members are dues-paying members and will be classified as a "General" member.
Recent Graduate members have a unique dues structure to help ease the transition into professional membership:
- First 12 months after graduation - $12
- Renewal rate for year two - $50
- Renewal rate for year three - $115

- Proof of official graduation date*
- $12 membership fee
*Applications for Recent Graduate Membership must be submitted no later than 90 days after graduation. If at anytime during this three-year period, membership has expired, this offer will be void and regular membership rates will apply.

In-Transition Membership (see below for special dues structure)
to DallasHR who are unemployed have the opportunity to join for a discounted rate of $50.00. To take advantage of this benefit please submit the following to the DallasHR office for processing:

who are unemployed at the time of their membership renewal can extend their membership for *one 12 month term for no charge. To take advantage of this benefit, please submit the following to the DallasHR office for processing:

*This members-only benefit is limited to a ONE TIME use and must be activated within 30 days after membership expiration date.

Retired Professional Membership (see below for special dues structure)
An individual who has retired from a career in human resources* and meets the criteria of a Professional Member. Retired Professional Members shall be entitled to all privileges of Professional Members, including the right to vote and hold elected office.
*An individual who has retired from active full-time employment in an HR position. (Full time is considered 30 or more hours weekly.)
- FREE to individuals who have been a continuous member of DallasHR for 10+ years at the time of their retirement
- $25.00 annually to New Members who are retired or those who have less than 10 years of continuous membership with DallasHR at the time of the requirement
