Volunteer Opportunities - Get Engaged, Make a Difference!

Project Volunteer

Participate when the chapter needs additional support for an event, like being an Ambassador at an Education Event and sharing your love of DallasHR with non-members in attendance, to supporting a committee with urgent needs like writing thank you notes or calling new members.  These short term and project based roles fill an important or urgent need.

Community Outreach Volunteer

Join fellow members who believe in using time and talent to impact the local community. This set of volunteers provide HR related workforce readiness programming at local organizations or give their time to assist other local non-profits.  You will be notified as opportunities become available for when you join the Community Outreach Forum on HRConnect.

Committee Volunteer

DallasHR has various committees which work to support both DallasHR and The HRSouthwest Conference. Both committee member and elected positions are available for a one-year term which begins in January. There is a total of 11 committees to assist with sourcing education, outreach to our members, community service and helping advance the HR profession in general. 

SHRM certified individuals are allowed 5 PDCs per year for recertification hour accumulation for serving as a SHRM affiliate leader.

2024 Chapter Committees


Member Engagement reaches out to welcome new members and helps them become acquainted. Follows up with members who have not yet renewed, manages the DallasHR Ambassador program, selects networking event venues, community service event, and researches ways to improve the benefit value for all members.

Education plans monthly educational programs, workshops, seminars and webinars for all educational areas including general HR, talent management, employment law and special interest areas.

Student Engagement oversees and promotes all student activities for DallasHR & The HRSouthwest Conference. The student program includes a mentor program, scholarship review and awarding, monthly education event, student guest program and support to the on-campus college SHRM chapters.

Career Support coordinates and facilitates meetings and networking to support members of the HR community who are in transition or otherwise seeking to improve their overall career skills.

Community Relations finds and plans chapter outreach efforts to support the local community through volunteer engagement and workforce entrance type programming. Community outreach efforts focus on gatherings designed to engage many members in one activity. Additional programming which utilizes the skills and knowledge of active volunteers to support the local community who are preparing to enter the workforce is also a focus.

Collin CountyHR serves the members who wish to engage and learn within Collin County. Through local programming, networking and recruitment efforts, this committee focuses on continuing the momentum developed in recent years.
