Community Service Event -Minnie's Food Pantry

Join your DallasHR colleagues to help at Minnie's Food Pantry. 

All are welcome! This opportunity is not limited to DallasHR members.  Please invite your colleagues, team members, HR departments, friends and family (must be at least 16 years old to volunteer).

Volunteer Expectations:

7:45AM Volunteer registration/orientation/task assignment
8 AM-12:00PM Volunteer Experience-Volunteer tasks include: placing food items in the trunk of clients' vehicles, preparing cold bags, unloading, stocking, sorting, preparing boxes, assisting at Minnie's Boutique, etc.
12:00PM Volunteer experience wrap-up
(Must serve the entire shift; 7:45am-12pm)

Volunteer Task:
Contactless interaction with clients: placing food items in trunk of client's vehicle via drive through distribution(Wednesday through Saturday), preparing bags filled with fresh produce & dairy items, preparing bags filled with frozen items, such as meats and ready-to-eat meals, stocking shelves, sorting donations, preparing boxes, assisting at Minnie's Boutique, etc. (volunteer task vary day to day based on organization needs)


Volunteer Requirements/Age Requirements:
1.  Due to the nature of the tasks to be accomplished we require all volunteers to be 16 years or older. In addition, volunteers under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. 

2. When you check-in, your temperature will be taken and you'll be asked to confirm you've been free of COVID/ Flu like symptoms for the past 10 days. Staying home is the best way to protect yourself and others from getting sick. Wearing a mask is optional while serving at Minnie's Food Pantry.

3. Must be able to lift 40lbs.

Please consider donating our most needed items when you come to volunteer! We are a community-based organization and depend on individuals and/or groups to help us provide meals to the families we serve!
*$25 gift card from your local grocery store; Walmart, Target, Kroger, Market Street, H.E.B, Amazon etc.
*Boxed Cereal
*Kid friendly snack items
*Hamburger Helper meals
*Boxed Mashed Potatoes

Frequently asked questions:

What should I wear?
Volunteers should wear close-toed shoes and appropriate clothing such as jeans, shorts and t-shirts. No sandals/flip-flops, extremely short skirts/shorts or low-cut shirts. Individuals wearing opened toed shoes and inappropriate clothing will not be allowed to volunteer. 

Where to park? 

Please park in front of Suite 671; Minnie's Empowerment Center. 
 Across from the green Minnie's distribution tents.
